Personnel Details
Larry Eichstadt
Larry holds a BSc Honours degree in Biochemistry and Zoology from the University of Port Elizabeth and has worked in the following companies: Coopers Animal Health in East London; Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (Eastern Cape and Western Cape Office) and Ingerop Africa.
During the course of his career Larry has been exposed to a multitude of environmental projects within the water resource management, waste management and mining fields. He has worked with many professionals (consulting and industry) both nationally and internationally and therefore has gained broad experience in the environmental field. After having left DWAF during 2001, he moved into the Environmental Consulting field and is now the sole member of a registered closed corporation “Environmental Planning and Resource Management Services” (EPRMS). This consultancy is trading as Resource Management Services (RMS)
Specialist fields include:
- Waste Management – EIA’s, integrated planning, policy, permits, project management
- Water Resource Management – EIA’s, Licence Applications, project management
- External Compliance Auditing – waste management and wastewater fields
Kim Pontac
Kim holds a National Diploma in Oceanography from the Cape Peninsular University of Technology, and has been employed in the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (Marine and Coastal Management). She has also obtained her BTech in Environmental Management at the same institution.
Her academic training encompasses:
- Environmental Impact Assessments
- Environmental Legislation
- Environmental Resources
- Environmental Rehabilitation
- Geo Hydrology
- Chemistry
Marsha Jansen
Marsha holds a Medical Secretarial Diploma from Upington College, an International A+ Technician Qualification from Computers ++,
and an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) where she is part of the prestige Golden Key Society.
She was previously employed by Old Mutual (Head Office) where she worked as a Customer Service Consultant in the RFA Department.
Her wide range of knowledge and skills enables her to execute her duties with efficiency and consistency.
Marsha is employed as an Administrator and is responsible for office clerical and support staff with overall responsibility for office support activities.
Kathryn Jolly
Kathryn is a recent graduate holding a MSc degree in Marine Science from the University of Cape Town.
Kathryn has been employed at RMS as a junior consultant to assist with environmental projects (Basic Assessment studies) within the organic waste beneficiation, waste and wastewater treatment and industrial energy related fields.
Capacity Building & Skills Training
Resource Management Services (RMS) is continually investigating opportunities to assist potential historically disadvantaged environmental students in developing valuable skills in the form of contract work whilst completing their studies. RMS plans to do this initially, by instituting a student-mentorship program with the relevant institutions within the Cape Town area. It is hoped that with the growth of RMS, at least one selected HDI person contracted during the mentorship program can be fully employed. RMS also participates in joint ventures and partnerships with HDI owned companies.
